Trivialism is committed to ensuring that our trivia game is accessible to all players, including those with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our web and mobile platforms.
1. Our Commitment
We believe everyone should be able to enjoy our game. We are working to ensure our Service meets accessibility standards, including:
- ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) — United States
- European Accessibility Act (EAA) — European Union
- Equality Act 2010 — United Kingdom
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA — Our target conformance standard
2. Accessibility Features
2.1 Visual Accessibility
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
- Color independence: Game elements do not rely solely on color to convey information. Answer choices and feedback use text labels and icons in addition to color.
- Scalable text: The web and mobile platforms support text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Screen reader support: Semantic HTML and ARIA labels are used throughout the web platform to support screen readers.
2.2 Motor Accessibility
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements on the web platform are accessible via keyboard.
- Touch targets: Mobile touch targets meet the recommended minimum size of 44×44 pixels.
- No time-critical input required without accommodation: Trivia timers can be adjusted or paused in the accessibility settings.
2.3 Auditory Accessibility
- Text alternatives: Audio-based trivia questions include text transcripts.
- Visual indicators: Sound effects are accompanied by visual feedback.
- Captions: Any video content includes closed captions.
2.4 Cognitive Accessibility
- Adjustable timers: Players can extend or disable answer timers in accessibility settings.
- Clear language: Game instructions and UI elements use plain, straightforward language.
- Consistent navigation: Navigation patterns are consistent across all screens.
3. Known Limitations
We are continuously improving accessibility. Currently known limitations include:
- Some third-party integrations (e.g., Discord bot interactions) rely on the accessibility features of the Discord platform, which are outside our direct control.
- Older trivia content may not yet have full text alternatives for all media. We are actively working to remediate this.
4. Feedback and Support
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our Service. If you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
Trivialism — Accessibility Team
Email: [email protected]
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.
5. Enforcement and Complaints
If you believe we are not meeting our accessibility obligations:
- US: You may file a complaint with the Department of Justice (ADA).
- EU: You may contact your national enforcement body under the European Accessibility Act.
- UK: You may contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
6. Assessment and Review
We conduct periodic accessibility audits using both automated testing tools and manual review. Our most recent audit was conducted in April 2026. We are committed to ongoing improvement.
